Apollo Foundation Trust was established in 2017 as part of a BBBEE deal. We have shareholding in Apollo Mining (Pty) Ltd, Brakkefontein Clay Products (Pty) Ltd t/a Apollo Brick and Udongwe Mining (Pty) Ltd and will be registered as a non-profit organisation.

Itsoseng Trust and Udongwe Trust Beneficiaries decided to sell their shares in the above mentioned companieswho made an offer and that was accepted by the Trust Beneficiaries in February 2017. Itsoseng Trust and Udongwe Trust was paid out in March 2017, and was immediately paid over fund were immediately distributed to all Qualifying Beneficiaries.

Apollo Brick (Pty)Ltd sold its business as a going concern to Brakkefontein Clay Products (Pty)Ltd effective 1 March 2017 and subsequently changed it’s name to Apollo Mining (Pty) Ltd.

Idries Kahaar

Idries Kahaar


Idries holds a Bachelor’of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (1992). He started his IT career in 1994 at the End-User Support department of Telkom’s Regional Information Services. He later completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2004 at the UCT Graduate School of Business. Idries’ 24 year IT career included him working for local as well as multinational organizations where he has held a range of technical as well as senior operational management positions.

Additionally, Idries works as a non-Executive Director at Apollo Brick (2006 to present) where he represents the interests of the Apollo Foundation Trust. He previously worked as the Information Officer for the South African chapter of the Sainsbury Management Fellowship (Apr 2005 to Mar 2015) which funded the MBA university studies of local engineers holding leadership positions.

Lancelot Zwane

Lancelot Zwane

Lancelot (Known as Lance) Zwane, is a HR Manager at Brakkefontein Clay Products (Pty)Ltd t/a Apollo Brick since 2007. Lance completed his B-Tech degree in HR Management at Tshwane University of Technology in 2005 and his B-Tech degree in Labour Relations at University of South Africa 2009. He also attended Directorship 1,2 & 3 at the Institute of Directors. Lance recently completed his Master’s in Business Leadership (MBL) through UNISA School of Business Leadership. He enjoys working with people and provide guidance and advises both on personal and business capacity. Always looks at changes as a development opportunity.

Nadine Sha

Nadine Sha

Nadine Sha is an external independent Trustee with Apollo Foundation Trust.  She is an Industrial Psychologist registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa and has 14 years experience as an HR Generalist. She also owned her own small business from 2002 until 2010.  Nadine is currently working as a Consultant establishing a brand new American-style university in Baghdad, Iraq.  She has recently completed her PhD on Change-oriented Leadership at the University of Western Cape.  Her passion is developing people and leaders.
